The Ministers (Preachers) Ministry
Ministers are Christian Educators and assistants to Pastor. This Ministry is to make disciples of all nations and teaching them the Word of God. They set forth the will of God from God’s Word for the edification of the listeners.
Deacons Ministry
Deacons are appointed and ordained by Pastor. The purpose of the Deacons’ Ministry is to serve the Lord and the church by assisting Pastor in meeting the spiritual and physical needs of the church. This ministry assists in the preparation and service of the baptism and the Lord’s Supper. They visit the Sick and Shut in.
Mothers Ministry
Junior and Senior Mothers of the Church are mature virtuous women appointed by Pastor. They are examples of Godly women exhorting the Lord through the teaching of God’s Word and counseling younger women of the church.
Their duties are to prepare candidates for baptism. Set up the Lord’s Supper table before and after service.
The Disciples of Love Ministry
The purpose of The Disciples of Love Ministry is to provide Pastor with spiritual support, continued prayers and assist him with his financial needs.
This Ministry supports our Pastor and exhibits our love all year, as we keep him encouraged as our leader.
If you have a love for your Pastor, have an open mind, a spirit of involvement and trust God as you walk by faith and not by sight, then we encourage you to become a part of this ministry.
This ministry also does the planning, assisting, decorating and all affairs pertaining to any programs for Pastor and activities for First Lady.
Hour of Power (Bible Study)
The Hour of Power is each Wednesday night for one hour. It is designed to help worshipers achieve an intimate relationship with the Lord and to learn of Him and to pattern their lives after Him. Participates can ask questions and share commentary to better understand God’s word. A class is available for all ages.
There is always space for FMBCK disciples and anyone who wants to increase their knowledge of God’s word and have a closer walk with Him.
Tuesday Noon Bible Study
Tuesday Bible Study is designed for those who work at night or not available for the Wednesday Hour of Power Bible Study. This class is on the phone line for one hour. It is also designed to help worshipers achieve an intimate relationship with the Lord and to learn of Him and to pattern their lives after Him. Participates can ask questions and share commentary to better understand God’s word. The class is available for all ages.
The phone line is not only open to FMBCK disciples, but for anyone who want to increase their knowledge of God’s word and have a closer walk with Him.
Church School Ministry
Church School is each Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. Classes for all ages.
Church School teachers are trained and equipped to administer God’s word.
Pastor teaches the class every 1st Sunday.
The purpose of Church School:
• Reaching the needs of people for Jesus Christ and making them responsible disciples of His church.
• Ministering to class members through Christian fellowship.
• Teaching class members the Word of God to equip them as Disciples of Christ.
• Helping class members find a place of service to help them grow in their faith.
There are always spaces for FMBCK disciples and others.
The Trustee Ministry
FMBCK Trustees is a Ministry of stewards responsible for the financial management of all aspects of the physical church including external upkeep and internal upkeep and its contents. Trustees represent leadership under the direction of the Pastor and are responsible for ensuring that members and visitors have a safe place to worship, fellowship, and learn. The Trustees Ministry understands the vision of the Pastor and is expected to be present, to continuously study God’s Word, and to operate as informed servants with integrity and unwavering fortitude. This Ministry operates under the educational platform established by the National Baptist Congress. Members are selected by our Pastor.
M & M Ministry (Membership Ministry)
This ministry is a support system for all the disciples of our church.
Team members instruct a six-week training course or class to new members. There is continuous contact with our new members to ensure we are meeting their spiritual needs. A scheduled seminar is organized when needed as a refresher course for all disciples. This is also a great opportunity for new disciples who have not completed their training course to do it in a one-day Seminar.
Greeters Ministry
This ministry is open to all who have the gifts to express warm-hearted friendliness, love, and kindness to every worshiper, visitor and disciple who enter our doors.
The purpose of this ministry is to commit our time and energy to make every worshiper feel welcome from the time they enter the parking lot, are seated in the sanctuary, and upon their departure.
Ushers and Health Ministry
The Ushers and Health Unit is a joint Ministry. Their mission is to serve as doorkeepers and aid for those who enter to worship, making ready for the reception and teachings of the Holy Word. They are always ready to aid and assist in keeping a healthy atmosphere.
Mass Choir Ministry
This ministry consist of a variety of harmonizing choirs with the sincere desire to individually and collectively praise God with songs and instruments. This ministry sings a wide variety of music including hymns, anthems, contemporary and spiritual gospel.
Concerned Women for Christ Ministry (CWFC)
This ministry is available to all females, from high school graduates to seasoned seniors. This ministry ministers to women and young women by providing a support system when needed. By increasing biblical knowledge, providing Christian mentorship, coordinating women’s enrichment conferences every other year. Meetings are every 2nd Saturday at 10:00 am
Youth Ministry
The Youth Ministry is children ages 1 through 17 years old. Its mission is to educate about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to teach how the gospel applies to everyday life, and train youth to grow as Christians spreading the gospel and plan of salvation to others.
This Ministry also emphasizes the concern and respect for one’s “neighbor” and teaches youth, as Christian believers, to be role models for others, so their actions and words may be instrumental in saving souls.
Mission Ministry
This ministry goes out to teach, to pray and visit the sick. They also provide support for the underprivileged. They support Habitat for Humanity and St. Vincent’s Children Home financially with clothing drives. This ministry sponsors family movie night, the Black History Programs, and the snacks after church school every Sunday morning.
Reach Out/Out Reach Ministry
This team of dedicated Disciples is committed to service in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This ministry team operates under the anointing and direction of the Holy Spirit. Some of the activities include visiting Adult Day Care Centers, canvassing and witnessing in the neighborhood at least three times per year, seeking those who are lost. However, some activities are limited because of COVID. This team visits the sick and shut-in at their home, by request only. They also visit disciples of the church who are hospitalized, also non-members by request. Prayers, scriptures, and songs are rendered at Adult Day Care Centers and Retirement Homes
Reach Out/Out Reach Purpose Statement:
• We vow to be totally committed to move from within the four walls of our comfort zone.
• To reach out wherever needed
• To reclaim the backsliders
• To seek those that are lost
• To witness in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, to prayerfully guide them to the House of Worship.
• If you have a burning desire to see none lost, we are the team that is spreading the word. If you are not afraid of work for the Lord, we invite you to become a part of this ministry.
Evans Burton Sr. Scholarship Fund
Evans Burton Sr. Scholarship Fund was established in memory of the late Deacon Evans Burton, Sr. to provide financial assistance to students of FMBCK who are enrolled in a two or four-year College or University. Donations can be given at any time.
Dietary Ministry (Kitchen)
This ministry provides a well-balanced meal anytime food is served at the church.
Mobile Ministry (Van)
This ministry is a travel agent to transfer disciples who do not have transportation to and from service, and fellowship churches.
This ministry also provides transportation for the Youth Department and other Ministries for off site visits.
Audio Visual Ministry
This ministry provides audio and video for all services, which includes: All Worship Services, Special Programs, Bible Study, Sunday School and Funerals.
Operations include recordings and the operation of the projection monitors and video cameras.
The Vision Newsletter Ministry
The Vision Newsletter is printed monthly and distributed each 1st Sunday.
The Newsletter is an informational piece on church updates, highlights of Sunday messages and more.
